The background

Expert Transport is a Polish company, established in 2010. The company offers services for home delivery. Specializes in transportation and distribution of home appliance and furniture. To do its everyday tasks, managers and fleet workers used a custom software, that was prepared at the beginning of the company’s history.

The company started to rise fast, so with every day, the list of needed changes and new features was getting bigger and bigger. But the system was quite outdated, especially code, so it was not easy to develop it further. So employees had to do more and more things manually, as the system did not provide needed options. It was a waste of time, yet the decision was postponed. Until the moment when on the horizon appeared crucial clients that needed custom features within the software. It was in Autumn 2019. The decision to change the software has been made.

The task

To prepare a brand new software that will provide

  • admin CRM for fleet and employee management; with monthly, weekly, and daily schedules, easy tasks reorder tool and communication feature. All documents are digitized, the system also provides easy access to all invoices and payments;
  • statistics and reports easy to check and customize for clients; digitized documents flow tool. For example: scans import and bar code reader. Everything is stored in one database that is easy to reach for any additional data needed;
  • drivers application: workers that deliver furniture or home appliance have their own mobile app. Personalized content includes task lists, schedules, and additional services like electronically signing of delivery documents. Voice Sign and Touch Free, described in another article;
  • clients CRM for orders management, documents flow, and invoices management. Included additional personalized dashboard with customizable reports;
  • end-users webview, which enables first to order home delivery to exact place and date, and then to check statuses of the shipment and all documents needed.

The final software

It was developed in three months. There are plans for new features that will be finished soon. One of them will be a magazine management tool. It will enable to combine home delivery of furniture and home appliance with the best option to store it. Thanks to that, the end-user will have it delivered exactly when it will be needed.
