The Background
Expert Transport is a Polish company established in 2010 that specializes in home delivery of furniture and appliances. For years, managers and fleet workers relied on custom software developed at the company's founding. While functional initially, the system struggled to keep pace with the company's rapid growth.
As the business expanded, the list of needed changes and features grew longer. The outdated codebase made further development increasingly difficult, forcing employees to handle more tasks manually. The tipping point came in autumn 2019 when crucial clients required custom features the existing system couldn't provide. The decision was clear: it was time for a complete rebuild.
The Task
We needed to build a comprehensive transportation management system that would provide:
- Admin CRM for fleet and employee management with monthly, weekly, and daily schedules, easy task reordering, and team communication. All documents digitized with easy access to invoices and payments.
- Statistics and reporting that's easy to check and customize for clients. Digitized document flow including scan imports and barcode reading. Everything stored in one accessible database.
- Driver mobile app for delivery workers with personalized task lists, schedules, and electronic signature capabilities. Includes innovative Voice Sign and Touch Free features, covered in this article.
- Client CRM for order management, document flow, and invoicing, with personalized dashboards and customizable reports.
- End-user portal enabling customers to schedule home delivery for specific dates and locations, then track shipment status and access all necessary documents.
The Solution
We developed the complete TMS in three months. Additional features are currently in development, including a warehouse management tool that will enable optimal storage solutions for furniture and appliances, ensuring customers receive deliveries exactly when needed.
